However, the definition of the [[Sharing Economy]] is generally taken to include platforms like AirBnB and Uber, which we now recognise as 'extractive'. (See [[Sharewashing]].) Recently there is more general agreement within the community talking about the [[Commons]] that those kinds of platform are not in any deep way collaborative.

According to Google Trends, interest in the term peaked around 2016, which makes sense given the introductory material disseminated around 2012 to 2013. It is one of the terms, but by no means the only one in use, to describe the kind of economy that fits with the [[Commons]], with the [[Transition Initiative]] etc.
