Description
"Stephanie Rearick shares her journey and insights into building community-driven economic models. Growing up in the 70s, she witnessed the changing corporate culture, which influenced her perspectives on economy and money. Her realization about economic drivers led her to explore alternative economic systems, such as Mutual Aid Networks (MANs).
- Inspired by Bernard Lietaer's book The Future of Money, she founded a time bank, which evolved into Mutual Aid Networks (MANs).
- Time Banking, a form of Mutual Credit, allows individuals to exchange credit for services without putting a price on time.
MANs are cooperative networks designed to support community members in discovering and succeeding in work they want to do, with community support.
- MANs aim to fill economic gaps by valuing care, creativity, and community work, which are often devalued in traditional economies."
