How commons are made? Commons aren’t some ancient residue, but many new commons are being made.. Gives an example of one of the largest commons on the planet, the Lobster traps along the coast of Maine and outlines 3 basic conditions for actual creation of a commons: 1) the shadow of the future 2) training commoners in communal values and management of the commons 3) Continual fact that a commons is never a given – it is continually under attack by the market and the state.
