Excerpts from “L’Essai sur l’oeconomie”, Editions Charles-Léopold Mayer 2009. Translated from French by Michael C. Behrent.

Summary

"While reflecting on oeconomy’s specifications, we have just reached two essential conclusions. The first was that exchange born from the production and use of goods and services does more than satisfy individual needs. It also creates bonds that contribute to building society, in addition to fostering relations between individuals, between societies, and with the biosphere. The second conclusion was that the production of goods and services incorporates different types of capital, in which there is always a public component, whether because this capital is the fruit of collective efforts, or because its use cannot be restricted to a single actor. We must now ask ourselves what goods and services we are talking about." (http://socioeco.org/bdf/en/corpus_document/fiche-document-1434.html)
