For many years my research issues were welfare state and public services, democracy, european union policies and social movements. Till 2008 I was acitivist for Attac Austria, for three years also member of the board.

The last two years I've been engaged in several selfmanaged projects, like a foodkoop and a co-housing project.

My current theoretical work is focussed on alternatives to the capitalist system of reproduction, especially solidarity economy and commons. I wrote several articles and held some lectures and workshops on commons, I run the website http://www.commons.at, which is the first austrian commons website, and I'm organising a Commons-conference in Austria on the 15th of October. I'd like to get the commons dicussion started in Austria too. My special interests in the discussion on commons are the questions of energy and climate change, of urban commons and how the commons-perspective can stimulate the discussions about the restructuring of welfare states.
