Description
"The current direction of technological development emphasizes increased physical properties, and tends to ignore system-level factors like embodied energy, waste-stream effects on ecosystems, or socio-cultural effects of making and waste. Many modern problems -- waste disposal, global warming, deforestation, and biodiversity loss, to name a few -- can be related to this disconnect between made item and the system it becomes part of. Humblefacture is a new way of thinking about manufacturing which takes these system-level influences into account."
