Murat Kucukgirgin:

"I was born in 1976 Izmir Turkey.

I started studying French in Ankara in 1993.

I was a political activist from 1993-2000. 1995 I met the internet at the physics laboratory of Middle East Technical University. I decided to become a software developer and netizen.

I worked as a developer and designer in the software industry in Istanbul between 1996-2015.

I studied at the History Department of Istanbul Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University between 2001-2005.

I completed my master's degree in the Department of Informatics between 2006-2009.

Between 2000-2010, I pioneered more than 30 developer and designer events in Istanbul.

I started HacknBreak: Open Innovation Camp and Conference in İzmir in 2016. 9 days / 9 nights camp attended by nearly 1500 participants from science, technology and design every summer.

In 2017, we established the Open Innovation Association in Izmir.

In 2020, we established BilimKoop: Science Cooperative in İzmir."
