Meituan

Description

Flatulist:

"Meituan is one of China’s largest “super platforms” for local life services — roughly comparable to a combination of Uber Eats, Yelp, DoorDash, Groupon, and parts of Amazon Services rolled into one app. Through Meituan, users can order food delivery, book hotels, buy movie tickets, schedule home repairs, find restaurants, read reviews, and access a wide range of everyday services. For millions of small businesses in China, Meituan functions as the primary gateway to customers. It standardizes merchant information, manages reviews and rankings, processes payments, coordinates delivery networks, and controls traffic distribution through algorithms. In effect, Meituan is not just a delivery app — it is the centralized digital infrastructure that organizes much of urban and semi-urban daily economic life in China."
