This is a really great documentary (25 mins) about the Preston model of local development, as successfully applied in northern England. This goes further than just doing good commons stuff in the interstices of the neoliberal system, this is already a much more structural approach to social change; though the commons are not thought through in this approach, participation and multi-stakeholder governance are part and parcel of the approach. I strongly recommend viewing this.
