= Jason Bobe is one of the co-founders of DIYBio [1].

Jason Bobe, 35 based in Cambride, Massachusetts, is the current Community Director for the Personal Genome Project – a DNA sequencing effort launched by Harvard Medical School scientist George Church. He has also worked as a Business Development Consultant for OpenWetWare.org, as Director of Business Development at DNA Direct, and as an independent consultant. He has attended both the University of Colorado at Boulder and the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He is interested in how emerging biotechnologies and the web are redefining the relationships between scientific research communities, communities from the general public, and the network of actors in-between. He founded DIYBio along with Cowell, Mac.

DIYBio: DIYBio– do-it-yourself biology – is an organization based in the USA, which aim is “to help make biology a worthwhile pursuit for citizen scientists, amateur biologists, and DIY biological engineers who value openness and safety”. Their practices of biohacking are related to a 'democratization of science' they want to foster. Their growing community is organized around the project's website and a network of local groups.
