Description

Betsey Merkel:

"About I-Open:

The Institute for Open Economic Networks (I-Open) develops and deploys new models of economic development based on open networks and principles developed by the open source software industry in the 80's.

These models accelerate innovation in cities, rural counties and regions by strengthening collaborations between leaders in business, education, economic development, workforce development, politics and philanthropy.

I-Open’s approach revolves around new civic disciplines of “strategic doing” and new approaches to civic leadership.

I-Open is currently deploying these models across the country in partnership with Near-Time, the Edward Lowe Foundation and the Purdue Center for Regional Development."
