"Battered by intertwining social and ecological crises, we stand at a historical crossroads, facing an uncertain, contested future. The deepening polycrisis sparks contrary responses: a zeitgeist of fear, nativism, and demagoguery, but also social energy for building a civilization centered around people, peace, and planet. A descent into a barbarized world has become a palpable threat, yet a Great Transition to a just, sustainable, and peaceful world remains possible—if a popular movement coalesces to bring it forth.

The task before us is to midwife this diverse, systemic movement—a global citizens movement (GCM). To help meet the urgent challenge of catalyzing a GCM, the Great Transition Campaign (GTC) has created a three-part program—Vision, Collaboration, Mobilization—to foster conceptual coherence, strategic cooperation, and public engagement across many disparate efforts to forge a better world.

Because GTC alone cannot catalyze a transformative movement, the program is designed to complement and support aligned projects through efforts to build trust, solidarity, and unity. We have been engaging with leaders of many of these parallel efforts through their participation in the Great Transition Network."
