Refers to whether the best model for content aggregation is centralized or distributed.
Companies like Googlebase offer free blogging services in the hope to eventually control a centralized collection of blogs; that's the freebase model. Or you can accept that blogs are being created everywhere on the edge, on your own space, eventually collated through smart aggregators, that's the myspace model.
