An example of the type of fine points made in this very practical seminar:

"There's an assumption many people make that using a tool hosted in the US (Yahoo mail, for instance) is "safer" than using a tool hosted in China, for instance. As we've found out, this - unfortunately - isn't true. In these workshops, we try to explain to users the various vulnerabilities that come from being traceable back to an IP address, and the strategies one can use for disguising that IP address. For users who need to blog anonymously, we advocate for a solution that includes Tor or a trusted third-party proxy, and Hushmail, which are used to access Wordpress.com." (Ethan Zuckermann)
