Collaborative Finance
Description
1.
"The term “Collaborative Finance” was coined in 2010 and picked up in 2023 by Informal Systems to describe “DeFi protocols that emphasize the inherent graph structure of payment & credit systems” and was picked up as the title of the first Collaborative Finance Gathering (Austria, 2023).
The second CoFi gathering will take place in Banja Luka in 2024.
Several projects in the realm of community currencies, fair trade currencies, basic income pools, and post-capitalistic monetary systems have found a common vision in the goal of constructing systems of exchange beyond what traditional government-issued currencies and crypto-currencies have to offer."
2. CoFi, Stephen Demeulenaere:
"Collaborative Finance refers to a financial system built on mutual exchange and reciprocation, where communities actively share resources, knowledge, and decision-making to achieve shared economic goals. This model prioritizes fairness, trust, and reciprocity, creating value for all participants through the exchange of financial resources, services, or benefits. Examples include community currencies, peer-to-peer lending, producer and savings cooperatives, regenerative finance, multi-lateral offset clearing and others, where contributions and returns are designed to foster equitable outcomes and collective growth."
