"Aftermath Network is a research program on the root causes and social consequences of the 2008 economic crisis, initiated by Manuel Castells, João Caraça and Gustavo Cardoso and sponsored by the Gulbenkian Foundation. Other members of the network are Sarah Banet-Weiser, Craig Calhoun, Pekka Himanen, You-Tien Hsing, Ernesto Ottone, Terhi Rantanen, John Thompson, Michel Wieviorka and Rosalind Williams. They share the idea that this crisis is not just a financial and economic crisis, but also a social crisis, which is bringing about a fundamental transformation of societies at large.
