  • GMapCatcher, versions available for GNU/Linux, MacOS, and Windows, license: ?
  • Mapeo, versions available for GNU/Linux, MacOS, Windows (Android app in development), license: GNU GPLv3
  • Marble, available for GNU/Linux, MacOS, Windows, Android, license: GNU GPLv2, built around the Marble library (license: GNU LGPL 2.1)
  • OSM Scout Server, license: GNU GPLv3, developed for use with Sailfish OS, a local map server allowing ordinary map apps to be used offline, works with: Pure Maps, WhoGo Maps, Poor Maps, modRana
  • QMapShack (active fork of QLandkarte), versions available for MacOS and Windows, license: GNU GPLv3

Note: this is a WIP, gathering a list of suggested apps for evaluation, will eventually be turned into a table like the Free Code Chat Apps page.
