Quintuple Helix of Commons-Based Urban Governance

"It’s the quintuple helix governance approach. Stanford has advocated the triple helix (public, private, knowledge) as the key to “success" of the Silicon Valley.

What I argued is that especially in Europe we should have a quintuple helix approach which takes into account both civil society organizations and the commons distinguishing (without establishing an hierarchy) between the two because they both deserve separate recognition and attention to the different characteristics.

Others have proposed a quadruple helix approach confusing, melting together civil society organizations and the commons within the larger concept of civil society."
