|Details=Open data is a fundamental change in our society, we are certain, leading to a more open democracy, transparent and participatory, where citizens can engage more directly and collaboratively to help solve social problems. Open data has a wide application potential, weather it is in transportation, healthcare, budgeting, finance, and in the fight against corruption.
|Details=We are a grassroots initiative that aims to promote open access to civic data in the region of Montreal. We believe that access to data and information increases civic engagement, making services more accessible and facilitating innovation.

Open data does not benefit only citizens. Civil servants and elected officials can also reap the benefits. Open data brakes the silos of information and thus allows better sharing of information, increasing efficiency in administration by building bridges between organizations. For elected officials, open data allows the implementation of more transparent processes and the establishment of a less partisan and more objective debates, based on facts and figures. Citizens are in better informed and better able to understand the complexity of challenges to win.
By creating this virtual space, we hope to initiate and sustain a dialogue between stakeholders for the benefit of all Montrealers.

We are building on the success of Montreal Open (City of Montreal) and Capital Open (Quebec City), and we hope that the administration of our beautiful province adopts a policy of open data, so that Quebec evolves towards sustainable future, more open and more transparent.
