These is the ToC of a document that may not be online:
Part 1 The Permacommons is an alternative global nation defined by bioregions, united through permaculture ethics, and coordinated with cryptoeconomics.
Part 2 Each Decentralized Autonomous Bioregion coordinates funding for ecovillage development and ecosystem restoration through a charitable land trust. The land trust is tokenized and shares are distributed to the ecovillagers.
Part 3 Each ecovillage has its own local blockchain to run the community currency, admin and governance operations. Ecovillages can trade between other villages in the bioregion and globally through inter-bioregional currencies.

The Decentralized Autonomous Bioregion
Refi.Sicilia:
"The goal of the DAB is to balance the holistic health of the biosphere as measured through vitality. How do we coordinate capital to finance the acquisition and development of Community Land Trusts? With a decentralized autonomous bioregion (DAB) of course! A DAB is the equivalent to a DAO with a dedicated staking node supporting it, with the prime objective being to manage a portfolio of properties for ecovillage development of land and sea rehabilitation. Architecturally, a DAB is a cosmos hub, with each ecovillage being a spoke. The DAB acts as the TRUSTEE of the community land trust, and ecovillages lease the land on renewing 99 year leases.
DABs as bioregional resources indexes to coordinate info around TCRs
- Food and food support systems - Shelter and Buildings - Livelihoods and support services - Info, media, communications, and research - Community and Security - Social Life - Health Services - Transport Services
Even with ETH2.0 scaling efforts we will live in a multichain world. Diversity is healthy. Cosmos’ architecture is unique in that each application is running on a dedicated blockchain, that can communicate with all the other blockchains through the Cosmos Hub, and the interblockchain communication (IBC) protocol."
The Bioregional Blockchain
Refi.Sicilia:
"The bioregion blockchain will power the smart contracts and financial transactions that make up the DABs.
Financial functions include
- Credit Unions - Savings and Loans - Insurance - Associations - Stock Exchanges - Merchant Banks
With the emergence of decentralized finance on the Ethereum blockchain and broader Web3
ecosystem, the marginal cost for running an internal banking system falls to near zero. More
importantly, the composability of de-fi, meaning the ways in which you can create a contract,
and how that contract interacts with other accounts in the ecosystem is synergistic with second
order positive network effects. An example would be price futures on citrus harvest that would
be plugged into multiple oracles tracking the supply and demand of oranges. Another interested
funding model is the CSA or community supported agriculture, whereby consumers purchase
shares in the years harvest ahead of time. The money raised goes to the farm to purchase
materials and pay for labor to bring in the harvest. This creates a local economy and financial
security for farmers. Adapting a CSA into a NFT sale would be ideal.
To purchase the land, and to manage the collective stewardship of each Bioregion, a bioregional
office housed in the initiating ecovillage runs a blockchain node/validator. The objective to doing
it this way is that each bioregion has a forkable template to bootstrap an office and ecovillage off
the bat. Once an ecovillage reaches 500 inhabitants, a new blockchain can be forked, and
another ecovillage is created.
Using the new innovation of Interblockchain Communications, all of these forked blockchains can be communicating in a verifiable way.
For example, using the Cosmos Stargate, anyone can verify the ownership of a file, in this case it could be the title of ownership of some piece of land, or timestamp a certificate."
