[https://openstate.eu/en/ Open State Foundation] is a Dutch foundation that works on digital transparency by opening up public information as open data and making it accessible for re-users. They believe that it will strengthen democracy and create substantial civic and economic value.
 
Waag Society stood at the beginning of the design of a shared, non-commercial public domain. The Internet was still young, when it used the metaphor of the 'Digital City', one of the first communities on the Internet in The Netherlands. Today Waag tries creating a consensus among as many of the stakeholders as possible (companies, government, citizens, European laws and professionals) to anchor values as solidarity, sharing, learn to learn, creativity, beauty and a sense of change and innovation as deep as possible within the code and infrastructure.
