Some (maybe most) people think [[Profit]] is value, but profit (keeping [[Price]] above [[Cost]]) '''requires''' rivalry as a lack of [[Competition]], so the value talked about here must be something else.  It appears to me the value spoken of here is the often somehow overlooked [[Product]] itself.  That the reason most Free Software developers write code in the first place - to obtain the *product* for themselves.
