Description

"This film deals with the question of "open spectrum" -- the idea that some of the radio spectrum can be set aside for anyone to use. The first open spectrum initiatives gave us WiFi and all the fruits born of that incredible innovation. Lessig shows how Congress has thus far totally failed to learn the WiFi lesson -- that less regulation and control of spectrum leads to larger, more vibrant markets for devices -- and lays out the argument for ensuring that all inventors and innovators can use the spectrum to make better communications technologies. It's a stupendous video, well worth the 27 minutes -- I've never heard a complicated subject laid out with such elegance and simplicity."
