"I worked for 12 years as a director of a workers’ co-operative before building an academic career at Sheffield Hallam University through a PhD study of co-operative social enterprises. I have been a faculty member since 2003 with a research focus on the development of democratic relations in informal and formal organisations. With a strong interest in the impact of workplace democracy on corporate governance, my current focus is on developing practice through directorships with Social Enterprise Europe Ltd and [[FairShares]] Association Ltd. At present, I am the academic lead for Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) and a new MBA in Co-operative Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship at Sheffield Business School."
