Francis Heylighen: an excellent book debunking the AI hype:

"The authors also have a free newsletter, with many of their articles listed below. They offer a much-needed pragmatic view on AI as just another wave of impactful “normal” technology, such as electricity, the computer or the Internet, that will change society, but of which we will know the true impact only after a few decades of adjustment and trial-and-error of what is really useful and what is potentially dangerous. Like me, they do not subscribe to the “existential risks” scenario of AI being ready to take over the world and erase humanity."
