Hi! My name is Samantha Galloway. I am a 21 year old student studying Sociology and International Studies at Truman State University. Anchorage, Alaska is where I grew up, and my family now lives in Defiance, Missouri. I have been working with children in elementary and pre-schools (public, private, charter, religious, you name it) for over 5 years and want to continue working with children after completing my undergraduate studies, most likely as a social worker. I am also very passionate about the outdoors, and have become particularly focused on the history, sustainability, and future of America's National Parks. My boyfriend and I spent June of 2012 trekking across the American Southwest, where we made the most of our days exploring National Parks, National Forests, National Monuments, and state parks. Since returning from the trip, I have spent a lot of time researching the Parks separately from my university studies, and would like to contribute to this project in a way that examines access to, and protection of, natural public lands.
