Randal Joy Thompson, Ph.D., is an international development professional with over 30 years of experience. A USAID Foreign Service Officer for 28 years, Dr. Thompson now consults worldwide in the areas of monitoring and evaluation (M&E), capacity development, and gender equality. She recently served as Chief-of-Party for the Liberia Monitoring and Evaluation Project for two years. Prior to that she was Chief-of-Party for the Iraq PERFORM M&E Project and also served as Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Planning in Iraq. Dr. Thompson is a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) and member of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) and the American Evaluation Association (AEA). She will receive her Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University in early 2014. She wrote her dissertation is on the Commons. She has a Master of Arts Degree in the same field from Fielding; an MBA and Master of Arts Degree from the University of Chicago and a BA from the University of California, Berkeley. She also has a Certificate in Organization Development Consulting from Georgetown University.
