Paola worked as a commons researcher and journalist in Milan and London before becoming a systemist working internationally, and eventually a full time academic. She is multilingual, holds an MSc and a PhD, a multidisciplinary researcher based mostly in UK and Asia, working in AI Commons, Sustainability Engineering and Traditional Knowledge. A knowledge and expert systems designer, worked on content and knowledge based tools and architectures. She was founder and Editor in Chief of content-wire.com, the first online journal devoted to content management technologies (2000-2003) and collaborated with leading titles in IT including the FT and Der Spiegel Online. The author of JOM, the Joint Optimization Metamodel for Socio Technical Systems Engineering (2014), she also developed and implemented high level scholarly frameworks such as KAF (Knowledge Audit Framework, 2012). A knowledge integrator she specialises in interdisciplinary research and applications, and her preferred fields of practice are enterprise transformation and sustainable systems integration. She lives and works internationally, holds an MSc in Information Systems (University of Kent, UK 2000) a PhD in Systems Engineering (University of Strathclyde, UK 2011). She worked in London in as Science and Technology Correspondent (1995-2000) in Bruxelles as Research Evaluator, and more recently in various Asian countries as visiting faculty, Research Advisor and social innovation and sustainable enterprise consultant.
