I am a PhD student at Chalmers University of Technology in department of Architecture and Urban planning in Sweden.

My dissertation's title currently is 'Mechanisms and Outcomes of 'Rule based' and 'Designed form based' planning systems in regards to urban densification and expansion strategies. This is to compare the small-scaledness and mixedness and other factors that contribute to the adaptability and resilience of urban fabrique in the light of planning systems.

The cases from the 50's-60's with migration towards the urban areas where the infrastructural development and massive housing development went hand in hand both in Stockholm area in Sweden and Tokyo area in Japan. With the similar problems, the different strategies adapted a half century ago will be studied and followed until the present time with GIS mapping to find a pattern of changes.
