Leda Maniatakou is a singer, actress, musician, multi-disciplinary artist and Fulbright Scholar from Athens, Greece, currently living and working in New York City and Athens. As an actress she has performed in all ancient theaters in Greece, toured Korea, Ukraine, and the USA. Selected performances include the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, National Theater of North Korea, and City Center in New York City. In addition, she has worked closely with Peter Stein and Michael Nyman. She has appeared in 'The Flight of The Swan' directed by N.Tzimas, and played the role of Angelliki in the movie 'Brides', directed by Pantelis Voulgaris and produced by Martin Scorsese. Since 1998 Leda has had a busy career performing regularly throughout Greece as well as abroad as a singer and musician of traditional Greek, Rebetika music, alternative, rock and ethnic music. She has received awards from the Fulbright Foundation, The Gerondelis Foundation, the National Greek Piano Contest for young pianists, and won 1st price as a member of the Roes Dance Theater at the Festival of Crimea, Ukraine. Leda graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brooklyn College City University of New York (MFA Performance and Interactive Media Arts), Magna Cum Laude from the University of Athens (B.A.Theater Studies), and holds degrees from The Drama School of Contemporary Theater of Athens and The National Music Conservatory. In 2011-2012 she has been performing with great success the monologue "Kassandra and the Wolf by M. Karapanou and directed by G. Andreou, with whom she is currently collaborating on various upcoming productions as a member of 'Abirato' theater group.
