Talk:Viable System Model
Propose merging this with Viable Systems Model Simon Grant (talk) 14:20, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
I guess you know which one is the correct spelling ? if the two are used, I propose to choose as main page that with the largest number of visitors, that is the least disruptive
A good question. "Viable System Model" seems to be more correct -- see for example
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viable_system_model
- Jon Walker has "System" in http://www.esrad.org.uk/resources/vsmg_3/screen.php?page=home
- but he has "Systems" in http://www.slideshare.net/NCVO/viable-systems-model-john-walker-collaborative-learning-network-event-2
On Google, "viable system model" has 40k results, while "viable systems model" has 14k but also see "Viable Systems Approach" as in
So it's more awkward than I first thought.
One possible solution -- I wonder what you think -- would be to rename Viable Systems Model to Viable Systems (doesn't exist here) so that people are automatically redirected, and replace Viable System Model here with a link. I guess that would work well for everyone... Simon Grant (talk) 06:52, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
Actually, we could simply put in redirects for both pages. Simon Grant (talk) 08:21, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
Or, alternatively, just call the page VSM as this is a widely recognised acronym. Simon Grant (talk) 07:28, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
