My work focuses on the productive aspect of surveillance and monitoring in the digital era. In particular I explore the ways in which the capture of detailed information about citizens becomes a source of value creation and generation within the context of the emerging interactive commercial model. I am an associate professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Iowa and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Queensland, where I am researching attitudes toward the disclosure of personal information online.”
