Description
Michael Commons:
"Lohng kaek was the norm for the collective planting and harvesting of rice, and also used in building a home/ extension for a newly married couple. It is still the norm for temple festivals and events. Extended family, friends and community members join together in the process, which then can be done more efficiently and effectively, but also with a lot more fun. Generations join together from babies to elders, and there is a lot of singing, playing, joking and flirting. The hosts traditionally provide a good meal, and often alcohol, which in all makes for a very fun day."
