"The Greater Boston Chamber of Cooperatives is dedicated to strengthening and expanding the greater Boston cooperative economy through education, advocacy, and collaboration among its member organizations. Through shared resources and cross-sector collective action, we are working to build a more just, democratic, and sustainable economy.
A co-operative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly owned and democratically-controlled enterprise.
The Greater Boston Chamber of Cooperatives includes:
- Worker Co-ops: Businesses owned by their employees
- Consumer Co-ops: Businesses owned by their costumers
- Housing Co-ops: Housing owned by it's residents."
