Description

"eHomemakers is a social entreprise that promotes working from home, teleworking, and the running of small businesses through the use of ICT. It was born to promote economic self-reliance among women in Malaysia where less than one out of two of them has an employment, despite having higher literacy and secondary school graduation rates than men.

eHomemakers was particularly aimed at marginalised women, such as single mothers and the urban poor. The network now has over 17,000 members as of 2010, one third of them men, forming a people-to-people network at www.ehomemakers.net. This network provides support, teletrading and mentoring largely run directly by users themselves." (http://www.thinkinnovation.org/en/blog/2010/11/ehomemakers/)
