* Book: Bakan, Joel. The corporation: the pathological pursuit of profit and power. New York: Free Press; 2004.

Summary

"Bakan’s thesis is that for-profit business corporations are specifically designed to exhibit behavior to that of human sociopaths. They seek profit and power above all other considerations, including moral considerations, and their officers are required by law (as well as impelled by corporate incentives) to facilitate this behavior. Corporations profit by internalizing gains and externalizing losses, and manipulate the political process so as to create a favorable legal environment and capture any agencies tasked with regulating them."
