● A social systems map illustrates relationships between people, domains, and places.
● A digital twin platform is in development to integrate ecological, social, and governance data in bioregional contexts.
● Interaction Design
Relationality is core to the initiative:
● Learning journeys within bioregions help teams explore systems and share stories
● Cohort programs support peer learning and systems exploration
● Past engagement in system transformation working groups facilitated knowledge exchange
Content is co-created and context-rich, often derived from interviews, events, and on-the-ground documentation.
● Technical Architecture
Technical architecture includes:
● ArcGIS for multimedia-rich story maps
● Kumu for interactive systems mapping.
● Governance & Sustainability
Currently volunteer-driven, though the initiative is seeking funding to scale systems development and maintain contributions.
There are plans for:
● Cooperative funding and investment approaches
● Consulting and partnership-based revenue for custom mapping projects ● Governance structure is steward-led with collaborative design in specic projects."
