Description

Joe Brewer:

"The idea expressed in the words of Donella Meadows in an essay she wrote in 1983 — as the only way to achieve planetary sustainability. In reference to ten years of conferences and meetings among the best sustainability thinkers of her time, she said:

“Out came a vision of a number of centers where information and models about resources and the environment are housed. There would need to be many of these centers, all over the world, each one responsible for a distinct bioregion.”

In other words, a Bioregional Learning Center (or BLC) is a holistic learning ecosystem for reconstructing the geologic, climatic, ecological, and cultural history for a place that can enable strategic and holistic design to emerge for the regeneration of an entire bioregion. The restoration of living systems that integrates humans back into the tapestry of life on Earth. Regenerative education. Regenerative economies. Regenerative everything."
