Frans Lenglet, a Dutch national, is Director of the Swedish International Centre of Education for Sustainable Development at Gotland University (www.swedesd.se). He received his PhD in International Development Education from Stanford University. For almost 40 years he has made contributions to educational reform, distance learning, international university cooperation, management training, agricultural extension, project management and evaluation, in association with a variety of institutions, including universities, the World Bank, ILO, UNESCO, Sida and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

Frans Lenglet is currently working on identifying, designing, testing and disseminating appropriate and effective content, approaches and methods of “learning for sustainable change”, empowering individuals, communities and organizations to reach and act on sustainable choices about the cultural, social, economic and bio-physical conditions affecting their own livelihoods and well-being as well as those of other people and future generations, within planetary boundaries.
