"The Citizens Media is a platform and collaborative environment to create new systems that enable real change to occur, by integrating complex technologies into a single mobile based interface. By coupling the Citizens Media platform with a peer-to-peer development group we are able to deliver the technology driven by the needs of people on the ground within the communities we serve in Africa and in other developing and rural communities around the world.

The first priority for Citizens Media is to give voice to individual farmers and their families within communities, as well as across communities enabling them to communicate, share experiences and gain expertise that results in the creation of value and the development of best practices centred around their small-scale agricultural businesses. By connecting these voices across communities and then regionally, we enable not only the sharing of experiences, we enable them to create value and revenue flow through the transfer of skills, experience-based expertise, the sharing of data and by making products available and moving them between communities. Essentially it is about the development and delivery of community driven needs enabled through a mobile-based communication platform that requires very little technical expertise from the user."
