I missing a basis against which to see and consider the points made by Ryan and would therefore think it it proper to add an introductory paragraph defining what a commons is:

Definition

A commons is a valuable asset, especially one of use value, that is owned and maintained in common by those who have an interest in using it. A P2P commons is an asset that permits or facilitates interaction between peers.

(I am not quite clear what characterizes a P2P commons, as distinct from any other kind of commons. Can someone help and check the proposed definition?)

It seems there is a definition of a Commons. I think the boundary conditions, though I am not sure about this name yet, that these should be included in that page 'about' the Commons.
