Gleb Tyurin is one of the most known Russian specialists on community development and local economy. He started as a school teacher in far-remote rural areas, then used to be an interpreter, hard currency dealer in a big bank, freelancer, etc. In the end of 90th he foundered an Institute and Foundation to promote rural development. He carried out many projects in villages of the Russian North, which used to be extremely successful, and his experience was widely discussed and spread in Russia. He is an author of several books on local development published in Russian and Polish, winner of several awards in Russia and abroad.
