The Viral Academy is structured as an open source developer consortium, consisting of developers and independent academies. The aim is create a practical structure for separate groups, individuals and projects to cooperate in the creation of open educational projects that share common goals. In particular we are looking to share in the development costs and then to lower the ongoing maintenance costs of the technical infrastructure that these projects require, and to work together to apply for funding.
