Married, kid free, living in Brazil. An English teacher, artist, interested in code and new pedagogy for language learning, Paulo Freire style, to empower the creative economy, participatory culture, language, arts and the space in-between for teaching and learning. I love political art and activism, rebellion and the consequences, diversions and learning that comes from it. I don't believe in 'certificates' or testing and prefer 'portfolios' of learning.

Most of the time you'll find me researching new pedagogy, at the juncture of art (I love 'processing' and generative art as an education tool) creativity and education. With the goal of becoming knowledgeable enough to create a platform for English language teachers and students.

Project based learning excites me and the possibilities appear endless when one considers the growing success of Arduino, Sketch, Code Dojo, and Processing (Cinder) which take the classroom from inside to outside and everywhere in between. The problem I encounter is the understanding and training, by educators, admins and teachers who consider online learning a threat (still) and are not willing to entertain the integration of different pedagogies like informal learning, and peer to peer into the curriculum. Less problematic are the students who 'like' activity, learning in groups with peers, and see a more creative and fun way of learning through their day to day lives.

I take the attitude that learning is personalized, lifelong, constant and a habit. Which prevents me from working with the 'established' educators, and in some ways makes viable employment difficult. An English teacher is a person of rules, grammar, and constraint which in many ways represents everything I disbelieve. The space in between is where I am trying to go, which is where I hope to find an emergent consensus and understanding.

The P2P foundation is a place I found after channeling my efforts into open source, Github, forking, sharing, and so on. My goal is to contribute, create and explore this space more.
