Event organized by Geneva Health Forum and Open Geneva. The GHF Open Village is a joint initiative from the Geneva Health Forum and Open Geneva, led by the Breathing Games Association with support from Enable, EchOpen, Aura, LogAir, and other commons.
First edition
The GHF Open Village was launched in 2020 to introduce health commons. Twenty activities were organized: nine ‘Contribute to access to care’, five ‘Fablab: reproducing open hardware’, six ‘Mutualizing best practices’ (program). Webpage.
Second edition
Libre and open-source innovation empowers local communities, increases trustworthiness, and cuts costs by up to 100 times.
The second edition of the GHF Open Village will take place from May 2 to 5 2022 at CICG, with both present and online participants.
Building on the 2022 theme ‘reinventing global health in times of global changes’, we aim to
- advocate for commoning as the new standard of care (community-driven care that is co-created and freely reproducible)
- share critical successes and challenges in health commons thanks to participatory experiences (maker workshops, co-created discussions)
- strengthen cooperation across commons and non-profit organizations (active listening, consensus on shared goals, mutualizing resources)
