I tried to find a little info on Andrew Trusty to see if he might be amenable to commons thinking. It's still not clear to me.
https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/trash-nothing gives:
- trash nothing! is an online market place trading free things to promote sharing, reuse and recycling.
- Atlanta, Georgia, United States
- Categories: Collaborative Consumption, Recycling
- Founded Date: 2008
- Founders: Andrew Trusty
- Operating Status: Active
- Number of Employees: 1-10
I'm wondering if Trusty is simply extracting the advertising revenue from freecycle and freegle groups? While trashnothing does provide a service, it might be in the same category as Uber etc.
Perhaps a generative business towards freecycling which provides useful added value services
