=Bio=

"Jai Sen is a researcher and at present editor based in New Delhi, India, and a Director at CACIM (India Institute for Critical Action : Centre in Movement; www.cacim.net).  An architect by first practice, then an activist with the urban labouring poor, then a student of the history and dynamics of movement, local and global, his present work is based around creating spaces for critical reflection and thought-action in movement, in different media.  He is the author and/or editor/co-editor of various books and articles on the World Social Forum and the globalisation of movement, including World Social Forum : Challenging Empires (2004), Talking New Politics (2005), A Political Programme for the World Social Forum ?  Democracy, Substance, and Debate in the Bamako Appeal and the Global Justice Movements (2007), and ‘On open space : Explorations towards a vocabulary of a more open politics’, in Antipode, Vol 42 No 4, pp 994–1018 (2010); and of Interrogating Empires and Imagining Alternatives (forthcoming, 2010)."
