Lycee Francaise de Londres, Upper Canada College (Massey Scholarship), University College, University of Toronto. B.A. (Honours) Accountancy. Not the usual BSc, because too many credits in odd stuff like philosophy and East Asian Studies.

Multimedia pioneer. "Alternative Futures and Present Choices" caused an uproar, got me half a page in Time magazine and one of my several 15-minuteses of fame. The title is a theme of Bertrand de Jouvenal's, and we later became friends when I visited him at his School for Cabinet Ministers in Paris. "In Search of America" toured American college campuses for half of 1968, with crews based in Washington and Berkeley. I was working in New York, and flew out to meet whichever crew was working any weekend. Phew!

Office Manager, the Washington office of, get this, The Commons: An Institute of the Independent Sector. This was an attempt by a lot of social service organisations, mostly in the major Protestant churches, to found a RAND-like think tank. It ate through its pilot funding but didn't fly -- but did some good stuff on the way out, Puerto Rican civil rights, Southern voter registration, and, the big multi-billion-dollar hit, enabling the North Slope and South Slope natives' associations to negotiate effectively with the oil companies over Alyeska.

Professional Staff, House Education and Labor Committee for two Congresses.

Then went to Japan. Built the first 400 coin laundries in the country: Japan's society and culture just *knew* that Japanese women loved to do laundry. Hah! (A small bit of curriculum reform: got hand landry taken off the primary school curriculum. With cold water. By hand. Girls' curriculum...)

Currently studying Chinese. Planning on Bei-Dai or University in Xi'an or Shenzhen.
