"The goal of Project Splinescan is to develop effective, open source 3D scanning tools for science and research. The project encompasses all methods of object scanning, and places emphasis on the portability of code between operating systems, and on the optimisation of code for low-power hardware.

A sneak preview of the new scanning software can be found in this zip file. The code is not complete, but it does work well enough to demonstrate a few of the functions that the scanning system can provide. Please do not email asking for instructions on getting this code to work, because instructions will be provided at the end of March. You will need to have python, pil and VideoCapture modules installed on your system to use the scanner on windows, or python, pil and streamer installed to use the system with linux."
