Description

"The Platform for Public and Communitarian Partnerships was established as a cooperative space of the Latin American struggle for the defense of water, directed to support the construction of a transparent and participatory public model for the management of potable water and sanitation systems in the region.

In December of the past year, the office of the Platform with its headquarters at the April Foundation (Cochabamba, Bolivia) began its work as the meeting place for organizations, unions, institutions, cooperatives, public businesses, communities and other groups interested in sharing the vision that frames public-public agreements and in participating in the work of promoting and carrying forward these initiatives. A similar space with the same objective was opened in Montevideo by the State Sanitation Works (OSE) of Uruguay and its workers union, FFOSE, who both resolved to support the work of the platform.

In the coming months, both offices will work to consolidate the Platform and offer information, support and facilitation to those who are considering public-public agreements as an alternative for the improved protection and management of water service."
